Use a manufacturer model, catalogue page or project drawing to describe the design. Record the complete opening and the dimensions of each door or sidelite.
Find a manufacturer reference →Custom requests are reviewed individually. The selected product, construction and manufacturer requirements determine which sizes, preparations and combinations can be supplied.

- Manufacturer, model, material, thickness and the drawing or catalogue page being referenced.
- 3. Label the measurements
- Exact leaf sizes, frame dimensions and rough opening; identify whether a width is per leaf or for the complete unit.
- 4. Record the preparation
- Viewing reference, hinge side, swing, hinge pattern, lock preparation, jamb and finish requirements.
- 5. Plan fulfillment
- Requested date and pickup or delivery preference, with any project constraints that affect the package.
Matching an existing opening?
Photographs are useful alongside measured information. Include the existing door, frame, hinges, lock preparation and any product labels you can identify.
Show which parts will be reused. A sketch with labelled measurements helps distinguish the door leaf from the frame and wall opening.

Common custom-door questions.
Can I enter a nonstandard size?
Yes. The custom path accepts exact dimensions, including fractional inches. DoorCrafters reviews the requested size against the proposed product and assembly before confirming availability and price.
Can you match the hinge or lock preparation on an existing door?
Send the exact preparation requirements, measurements and supporting photographs or drawings. The matching work is reviewed before quoting; dimensions and compatibility must be agreed before production.
What if the project calls for a rated door?
Include the required rating or performance criteria and the applicable project documents. Suitability depends on the complete proposed assembly and permitted preparation. Product documentation and available options are confirmed for the specific opening.
Does submitting a request authorize production?
No. It begins the review and quoting process. You review the written price and specifications first. Purchasing and production begin after your approval and the agreed payment requirements are met.
